Joining and Membership
Joining the panel is easy and free and you’ll start earning points for your survey responses right away. Sign up here!
You are eligible to join the panel if you reside in the United States or Canada and are at least 18 years of age. View our Terms of Use to confirm your eligibility.
The panel is intended for people who buy certain types of products and services and the panel seeks to represent a specific consumer segment. As a result, not everyone will qualify. To see if you qualify, please take this short survey.
If you didn’t receive your activation/confirmation email, please check your spam/junk folder to confirm the email didn’t accidentally end up there. Sometimes these emails can be flagged as spam by your email provider. If you still can’t find the confirmation email, please contact us at surveys@betterbuyingpanel.com
We’re sorry to hear that you’d like to cancel your membership with the Better Buying Panel! To permanently cancel your membership please use the “unsubscribe” link in any of the survey invitation emails that you receive from us. You may also contact us directly at surveys@betterbuyingpanel.com to cancel your membership and/or request that we delete all of your information from our system. Please allow us 48 hours to update our records. If you get any email invitations during that time, please disregard them. Also, please note that any unused points balance will be forfeited once you cancel your membership.
Taking Surveys
Better Buying Panel surveys are fun and almost always shorter than 10 minutes, and we provide more points than most panels.
Your email provider may be flagging our emails as spam and moving them to your junk folder. To ensure that you receive all of our survey invitation emails, please add surveys@betterbuyingpanel.com to your list of trusted senders, address book, or contact list. If your mailbox does not have an address book or contact list, please contact your email provider’s tech support and ask how they can make sure emails from surveys@betterbuyingpanel.com are delivered.
The chance of receiving an invitation increases when you respond to our surveys and provide accurate and updated information. Completing your profile surveys in full will increase the chances of participating in more surveys that are relevant to your lifestyle and interests. The surveys each member will receive in any given month varies significantly.
Participation is completely voluntary. It’s important to keep in mind that the more surveys you take, the more points you will earn and the more opportunities you will have to get rewards. However, if you feel that a particular survey doesn’t match your habits, interests, or lifestyle, please feel free to disregard it.
Survey invitations are sent via email. All you need is a computer or a smart phone and internet access. The length of our surveys can vary, but on average it takes 5-10 minutes to complete a survey. You will be rewarded with points for every survey you take.
We understand that being asked the same questions over and over can be frustrating, and we try to avoid asking you duplicate information as much as possible. But sometimes this is unavoidable, and we ask for your understanding when this occurs. It can happen, for example, when you participate in a survey along with other members whose information is not known. To ensure consistency among responses, market researchers will sometimes ask everyone for basic information such as age, gender, or location.
Points and Rewards
The Better Buying Panel partners with Rewards Genius by Tango Card to deliver e-gift cards and other rewards to our panel members.
Each invitation will tell you how many points you will earn for participating and completing the survey. The amount of the reward may vary depending on the amount of time required to complete the survey, the urgency of the project, and the specific population being surveyed. For most surveys, you will earn 100-150 points.
Once you’ve reached 1,000 points, you will be given the option to redeem your balance and claim your reward, including e-gift cards from online retailers of your choosing, charitable donations, etc. You may also continue to build your survey point balance to exchange for rewards of a higher value.
Your current point balance is displayed at the end of each survey that you take and in each follow-up email that you receive. If you have reached the threshold of at least 1,000 points, you will also be provided with a link to redeem your points for rewards.
Yes, your survey point balance will roll over and continue to accumulate until you decide to exchange it to redeem rewards.
Once you have reached the threshold of at least 1,000 points, you will be given the option to redeem your rewards. This option will appear at the end of your latest survey and in the follow-up email that you receive. You will then receive an email with a link and code to redeem your gift card, make your donation, or claim another reward. You can spend your balance on a single retailer or choose a combination of e-gift cards from different retailers.

Rewards Genius currently offers prepaid debit cards from Visa and Mastercard, as well as gift cards for online retailers including Amazon, Apple iTunes, Best Buy, Google Play, GrubHub, Hulu, Sephora, Starbucks, Target, Walmart, Whole Foods, and others. Rewards Genius also offers charitable donations to the American Cancer Society, Clean Water Fund, Equal Justice Initiative, Habitat for Humanity, National Park Foundation, Special Olympics, water.org, World Food Program, and others. Note that gift card options may be limited outside of the United States.
The points you earn from the Better Buying Panel never expire. Once you redeem those points for rewards through Rewards Genius, you have one year to claim that reward. If you do not claim your reward within one year, your reward will expire and the points you used to redeem that reward may be lost.
Privacy and Security
At the Better Buying Panel, we take privacy and security very serious and any information you share is safe with us.
The Better Buying Panel is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of our panel members. We will never sell, rent, or give away our members’ contact details or personal data to anyone and we conduct no marketing or advertising to our panelists. We take great precautions to secure all of the survey answers that you provide to us. All information is encrypted and your personal data is stored on secure servers based in the US and operated in compliance with ISO 27001 standards. We hate SPAM as much as you do, so you won’t ever receive SPAM as a result of joining our community. We also work hard to protect your e-mail address as well as other personal information, and we will never share it with any other company. We adhere to strict SPAM regulations, but you are also able to cancel your membership at any time if you no longer want to receive emails or surveys from us.
